Monitoring and Controlling Project Work



Monitoring and Controlling project work requires initiating, planning, executing and closing a project to meet the performance objectives defined in the project management plan. Changes are inevitable on most projects, so it’s important to develop and follow a process to monitor and control changes. Monitoring project works includes collecting, measuring and disseminating performance information.

Reports should be prepared by the project team detailing activities, accomplishments, milestones, identified issues and problems. Performance reports can be use to report the key information including

Ø  Current status
Ø  Significant accomplishments for the period
Ø  Scheduled activities
Ø  Forecasts and
Ø  Issues

Enterprise Environmental Factor:

The enterprise environmental factor that can influence the monitor and control project work process include:

Ø  Governmental or industry standards
Ø  Company work authorization system
Ø  Stakeholder risk tolerances
